Rachel Curran is the EMBL Deputy Chief Operating Officer and EMBL-EBI’s Head of Administration and Operations. She is part of EMBL-EBI’s Senior Management Team. Rachel leads the EMBL-EBI administration teams and the operational transformation and improvement plans, including the digital change programme across EMBL.
Rachel joined EMBL-EBI in 2018, after being the Associate Director of Research and Faculty Planning at the Wellcome Sanger Institute. Between 2008 and 2013, she was Assistant Director of Operations at the University of Cambridge, Medical Research Council (MRC) Epidemiology Unit, following several years as a Research Unit Manager and a Research Programme Manager.
Rachel earned a PhD from the National Institute of Medical Research, and a BSc in physiology from King’s College London.
